About
Ragazzi di Strada is a partecipative archive and art practice dedicated to the study and research of subcultures and rebellious youth style in Italy.
Ragazzi di Strada’s activity bridges archival and academic research with curatorial, editorial and artistic practices. Through the collection, acquisition and partecipative submission of memories, ephemera and documents, Ragazzi di Strada aims to cast a light on forgotten stories, rescuing the Italian youth culture and subculture legacy and preserving it for the generations to come.
Simultaneously, the archive research is used as a source to critically reflect on site-specific themes to develop artworks, publications, articles and more.
The practice has taken shape under multiple forms, including exhibition curation and set design (Liscio Got Me Hardcore, Galera San Soda, Milan, 2023); brand consultancy (including C.P. Company, VANS, WP Lavori in Corso, Clarks); curation and publication of dedicated volumes and zines some of which have been shortlisted for independent publishers salons such as ABC Art Book China (Beijing and Shanghai, China) and Sprint (Milan, Italy); curation of a column for i-D Italy; hosting of a show on Radio Raheem.
Founded in 2018 by journalist and researcher Lorenzo Ottone, it is now run jointly with journalist and art director Camilla Rocca and architect and designer Beatrice Bozzano.
